Have you ever made a promise you later regretted?  Proverbs 16:24 says: "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." King Saul made a foolish oath in an effort to look good to others but his heart was dark.  Let us be reminded that when we are "clothed with humility", then we can speak words filled with wisdom.

The spiritual walls of our country are in ruins. While many have a casual concern, what we really need is to be gripped with a burden for our sins and the sins of the nation like Nehemiah.  God's Word tells us we are the solution:  "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
